Dear Nursing Students,
Welcome to the Blue Mountain Christian University School of Nursing Program. It is my pleasure to welcome you to a profession built on compassion, integrity, knowledge, and service. By choosing nursing, you are entering a field that has the power to change lives every day — including your own.
Our program is committed to preparing skilled, confident, and caring nurses who are ready to meet the challenges of today’s healthcare environment from a Christian World View. Throughout your journey, you will gain the academic knowledge, clinical experience, and professional values necessary to provide safe and compassionate patient care.
The BMCU SON is both rewarding and demanding. There will be moments that challenge you academically, emotionally, and personally. During those times, remember that growth often comes through perseverance. You are not alone on this journey. Our faculty and staff are dedicated to supporting, encouraging, and guiding you as you develop into professional nurses and leaders in healthcare.
As a student in this program, you are expected to uphold the highest standards of professionalism, accountability, respect, and ethical conduct. The habits you develop during your education will shape the nurse you will become and the impact you will have on your patients, colleagues, and community.
This handbook has been designed to serve as a valuable resource throughout your time in the program. Please review it carefully and refer to it often for policies, expectations, and important information that will help you succeed.
We are honored to be part of your educational journey and look forward to celebrating your accomplishments along the way. Thank you for choosing the BMCU SON and for answering the call to serve others through nursing.
Wishing you success in all that lies ahead.
Sincerely,
Dr. Angela Orsborn, FNP-BC, PMHNP-BC, CNE
Chair, BMCU SON
The mission of the School of Nursing is to prepare professional nurses from the perspective of a Christian worldview that fosters intellectual integrity, academic excellence, civility and character in one’s professional career.
